Two things drive most of our installation calls: age and weather, and in Richmond they compound each other. With housing across four distinct areas of town still carrying that same 1960s-70s stock, a lot of original doors and openers are simply past their service life - the steel has fatigued, the track has worn oval instead of round, and the opener predates modern safety reversal standards. Layer a severe cold climate on top of that, and you get doors that never sealed well to begin with now fighting ice at the bottom seal and condensation inside an uninsulated slab. We serve the households across this area - 6,658 owner-occupied houses out of 16,654 total - and the pattern repeats block to block: a door that was fine in 1975 isn't built for the insulation expectations or the opener safety standards of today. That's not a sales pitch, it's just what forty-plus-year-old steel and a cold winter do to each other.
